Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF)
Soaring the skies doesn't have to come with a heavy carbon footprint.

Flying towards progress
Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is taking off as an emerging solution to reduce aviation emissions. Made from renewable resources like vegetable oils, animal fat and waste from the municipal, agricultural and forestry sectors. SAF offers a cleaner alternative to jet fuel. Canada has a great opportunity to lead in SAF development, with abundant feedstock, established refining capacity, cutting-edge technology providers, and strong demand from domestic and international airlines committed to decarbonizing air travel. And the best part? This fuel works in the aircrafts we already use.

2%
of global greenhouse gas emissions are emitted from the aviation sector.

PILOT PROJECT SUCCESS
Parkland's Burnaby Refinery is the first in Canada to successfully produce low-carbon aviation fuel (LCAF), using non-food grade canola and tallow as the core feedstocks.
Why we're building a network of change
Fuel Forward was created to talk about low-carbon fuel options and innovative technologies in Canada that are transforming your existing transportation fuel into a solution; so that you can have confidence in the choices you make every day. We're not just aiming for short-term wins.
We're building a community of like-minded Canadians who will help us turn those solutions into tangible action.
